I forgot they made these remote controls for the PlayStation 2

We had one that was bundled with a new PS2 we got back in the day. What a silly idea. I remember trying to play a video game using that remote just to try it and it, of course, was rubbish. It was awkward trying to actively work it with one hand, there was a delay whenever you'd input one of the buttons and the whole using the D-pad to move your in-game character around had become completely obsolete by then. Did anyone ever seriously use this thing to play games? Even using it as a remote to watch movies on your PS2 is pointless when your regular controller can do the exact same thing. I guess it would be handy if you're some distance away from your screen since PlayStation controllers weren't wireless yet. But would it really be that much of a convenience?
