I Love Playing Video Games

I'm playing FFI for the first time, and it's annoying because of all the backtracking you have to do. Should I just skip to FFII?

FFI was a ton of backtracking, and if I remember correctly you end the game where you start ... but it is a classic ...

The random encounters give you no time to get anywhere, is why.

Indeed, I vividly remember trying to get places without tons of encounters, so I could actually have life and mana left to fight bosses :)

Yeah. We will see how long I last because giving up. Might just play some SNES RPGs instead.

@naoradix: Once you mature from "kids" to adults and get the airship, the game gets better. Good luck!! What party makeup did you take? I beat it back in the day with a Fighter, and one of each of the mages. :)

I have a warrior, monk, red mage, and black mage. I had no idea the black mage would end up being so weak, so I'm regretting that choice.

The white and black mage are really crazy weak, they get a little better when they mature, the black mage in particular has some good spells. Though they are both great at dying in the beginning!

Yeah I just let the black mage die and only bring him back to level up a few times in a row. Then he dies again.

@naoradix: I need to get my emulator up and running, now I want to play some FFI .. and some Super Techmo Bowl. Loved that game.

@Pherick: I just bought Wayne Gretzky and the NHLPA Allstars for SNES (one of my favorites), but my cat broke my SNES so I have to get another one. My husband was sad because it was his original SNES. R.I.P.

Oh wow an original one? That sucks! I want to get my emulator running and just have access to some of the NES and SNES games I played as a kid. Life would be good :)
naoradix · 36-40, F
You should. I have my laptop hooked up to my TV.

@naoradix: I have played them on my laptop as well, I was thinking about setting up a RetroPi and having that hooked up to my TV.

Luckily we have a few retro stores by us so I only have to go a mile or so to get a new SNES. I'm also playing MGS for the first time. I'm bad at it because I freak out whenever someone spots me.
