I love how Castlevania turns the history of the whip on its head

We’re all familiar with whips. They were created for pain in animals and humans, from flagellation to pain compliance. By all rights, whips are evil, immoral instruments created for nothing but misery. But in the lore of Castlevania, put a whip in the hands of a clan of vampire slayers, it becomes an instrument of righteousness. It’s used to bring down all manner of devils, demons, undead and other creatures to serve as pawns for the wicked Dracula. In the right hands, the whip becomes the opposite of what it’s made for.

That was such a cool game. The animated series on Netflix was pretty cool too. But I get where you're coming from.

@SleepingWithGhosts I’m convinced this was was why they chose the whip as the Belmont’s primary weapon. But I could also be tripping. 😅
