It's kinda hilarious looking back at how the media used to demonize video games
Titles like Mortal Kombat, Grand Theft Auto, pretty much any popular video game that had graphic violence would get made out to be bad influences on children, teaching them to become violent psychopaths. Yeah, those claims have not aged well at all. In fact, they've been disproven time and time again. The kids from back then are the parents of today and, big surprise, they haven't brought up a generation of serial killers. Sure there's more violent incidents like mass shootings happening nowadays, horrible as they are, but if you think video games are to blame for that, you're an idiot. Thankfully, gaming is taken a lot more seriously now as a highly lucrative industry and those who still shun video games as too violent and bad influences are dismissed for the out-of-touch nitwits they are.
Not even Donald Trump had many backing him when he was blaming video games (and movies) for violence during his first presidency:
The comments section on that video, lmao!
