I WANNA MAKE A VIDEO GAME, LIKE I HAVE THIS (imo) REALLY COOL IDEA FOR ONE... one pretty big problem though... I would need to learn EVERYTHING from scratch. Never had any prior experiences with making games or anything, hell I can barely use a computer on my own so learning coding is gonna be absolute hell

If there's any devs out there reading this, any tips for starters?

Also, I'm dead broke so if you wanna suggest a software for me to use, keep that in mind

Yo what’s your idea?? Also if you need help with coding I can do basic python:3 also I have a good guide for python if you’d like the link(as well as a testing site to test lines of code and run them) and obvs if you need any help with art for the game I’d be more than willing

Start small. Learn how to make some very basic games first. Start with making tetris or flappy bird or something to get a feel for it. Games are a lot of work.

Technically most software which can make games is free or have free versions. I'm pretty sure Gamemaker, Godot, Unity all have free versions.

You also don't have to use a game engine if for instance you just want to make a browser game. You can draw images in JavaScript and HTML5 and use a stand alone code editor like VSCode. If your long term goal is to make a bigger game it might be worth it to learn how to use the game engines though. But you don't have to.
