Shadowheart's side mission on BG3
I've gotten almost to act 3, finishing up act 2 and Shadowheart's side story makes me sad, I'm glad I didn't kill her in the beginning, I really wanted to. One thing I noticed about this game is that I can start out hating someone and end up being my favorite because I kinda felt the same way about Lae'zel too and she ended up being one of my favorites to play, that and a Paladin Oath breaker Hireling named Kerz, he doesn't even have an origin story but he's also easily one of my favorites.
Also, something more complicated is that, while Shadowheart's story saddens me, in another life if I made other choices she'd also be evil if she chose to become a Dark Justiciar. If we were playing to character's true personalities, it's highly more likely that she would have become evil because of how blinded she was when I first met her as Astarion and she tried to kill me.
That's why it's fascinating.
