@caPnAhab @Lilnonames We are certainly being pushed that way, for the business' interest, not ours; but how much it is a "spy" depends very much on how we use it.
Or rather, how you use it. I do not have, nor want, a so-called "Smart"-'phone and I limit my Internet use to avoid as much as possible anything possibly significant to the real "spies" - the major retailers and advertising-agencies. Use a so-called "smart"-speaker, Facebook and all on-line shopping and finance; and you can kiss good-bye to your personal privacy and security!
It's not the telephone or computer that counts, really, but how you use it, that matters.

The question though was about video games. They are only entertainment, but they are commercial products. I have never played them and will not; but it hardly surprises me that they are becoming used for advertising.
