The OP is asking about buying a PC, not building one. People these days mostly buy an off the shelf system. The bulk of AMD-based PCs come with a shared memory space (CPU + Video) and the video is controlled by the CPU.

The current architecture, means that this kind of PC will underperform a system with an independent video subsystem. That's not the case with Apple's own CPU/System design, but the PC world is not there yet.

@Northwest I say the OP should get a custom build pc.
can avoid the bullshittery that goes on with pre builds.

@Northwest well i'm looking at custom build pc's i get to pick and choose different parts. it gets built and then delivered.

@bugeye That's the best choice if you aren't building it yourself.
I think the most complicated part to source will be the board. decide what CPU you want, then research what board you want to use. they very greatly with a wide range of manufacturers. there are good resources on the web for finding the right one within your budget, just takes some searching.

@bugeye Did you look at the cost of a custom solution, vs something like an off the shelf Alienware?

@Northwest I suggest avoiding Alienware.
They tend to add bloatware and jack up prices.
better off getting a custom, and as a plus it's a learning experience into parts that you can use for later buys.
