I Like Trains

I don't know why but I love trains. My grandfather used to take me to work with him in the school holidays. His work was a station master. He was the boss of a whole line from Pantyffynon to Cwmllynfell. He had to visit all the stations and signal boxes. And that was my life. We went in the cabs of engines. Huge powerful diesels. Class 66 if that means anything. The railway people loved me. And I loved them.
I am 16 and I still love trains.

I went to college in Aberystwyth. Three and a half hours by train from Birmingham in a two carriage train. I loved it - getting off at the other end felt like you had somehow passed into a different world. Rail is still the only form of transport I really enjoy.
