I love Trains

If you have been here a while you will know that my Dadcu (Grandfather in English) was Station Master at Pantyffynnon. And I spent my childhood on the railways. My Dadcu used to take me to work with him. Probably to get me out the house and give my Mam a rest!
I grew up with trains. Travelling down the line and sometimes Dadcu had no idea where I was. But Railway is Family. You just can't go wrong. If I ended up in Inverness they'd see me back to Pantyffynnon. Like the coal trucks! Return Empty to Pantyffynnon. Yes we still have coal trucks. No deep mining now. Just open cast. But a wind farm on the mountain. We'll get there and be carbon neutral. In the meantime we have people out of work. Coal mining is where is coal is. Not where 21st century wishes people to be!

Your love of trains (and your Dadcu) is one of the most distinctive things about you. I do envy you those experiences.

On coal, yes, sadly the demand hasnt all been replaced yet, so it's still important. And of course as it gets replaced, something needs to be done for the miners put out of work, something that doesn't seem to be given much consideration.

@firefall You are right. In Wales the coal has been mined in the deep valleys between the still beautiful mountains. There is a huge population where apart from coal no one would choose to live or set up a business. But we are practical people. Our government is separate from UK and people are being helped to set up online businesses. And I mean massive help. I have been on so many courses about business this year. All free!

@Blodyn that is wonderful to hear
Blodyn · 22-25, F
@firefall It's ok aint it. Just we got to do something about it!
firefall · 61-69, M
@Blodyn absolutely. I'm pretty sure the coal towns in northern england have just been left to suffer, so it's great to know Wales is being smarter about that

@firefall I think Boris is trying to win votes in the north. He knows Scotland is solidly snp now and Wales is the only socialist country in Europe! The union could go soon!

@Blodyn sooner the better, really
Blodyn · 22-25, F
Yes. We are very different countries. @firefall
Blodyn · 22-25, F
But my country could be left the only one? @Blodyn
firefall · 61-69, M
@Blodyn the only Leftist one? or the only one left stuck with England?
Blodyn · 22-25, F
@firefall I should hate to be with England when Scotland and Ireland have gone. No one remembers that Wales is a country, less Cornwall. And Brittany.
firefall · 61-69, M
@Blodyn yes, it would be pretty bad
