I Love Trains

I have a t shirt I wear in the summer. It has a NY subway S55 on it heading for Prospect Park. I thought it was made up but I googled it and it is real!

There used to be a shuttle. Is that the one or the regular subway?

It is 55. It is on the ny subway map! @samueltyler2

S55 is actually a bus, in Staten island. Subways in NY now only use an alphabetical listing. Yes, the S train is what we used to call the Franklin Avenue shuttle. One stop on it is Prospect Park. Guess the other...Franklin avenue.

But, it DOES exist. The name is just slightly different. Close enough though.

Well. I don’t care. I don’t suppose I shall ever go to America! @samueltyler2

@Hepsie if you look it is confusing, the Franklin avenue shuttle, the S5 runs from the prospect avenue station to the Franklin avenue station. The sign on the front ofbthebtrain on your shirt even says shuttle. So, the side of the train running to prospect park says, as on your shirt, prospect park and the designation S5. The opposite end of the train would say Franklin avenue and S5.

It was/is a part of my childhood. You might someday be lucky enough to get here. There is the Brooklyn Museum near the area, it has a wonderful art collection. The main Brooklyn library is also there as is the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.

You wear the tee shirt very well. You have great courage showing your beautiful body. Thank you for bringing back something from my childhood.
