@akindheart The elevators are on the back of the aircraft and are used to keep the up and down of the aircraft. If the horzontal stabiliser to which the elevators are attached comes off you need to reach for your parachute. That aircraft will resemble a lawn dart. It will go nose first into the ground at a very high velocity. There is nothing a pilot can do. Nothing. Well except pray for your salvation. You are going to die.

@BacktobeingFrank the pilot had icing which is normal. He asked to fly above which was granted. we were having severe weather in Florida. They think that the precipitation on top of the icing caused the plane to fall apart. literally. the tail pieces in our neighborhood was not upon impact. it was before the crash.

@lissah the pilot was a male and very experienced. The copilot was 20 but she had a lot of hours too.

So tragic. I saw the pic. That plane flew into that trailer community like a missle. You could tell the tail rudders already fell off.

Very unfortunate. Hope such incidents are at least minimised if not totally avoided in future even though I wish these incidents be totally avoided.
