I Hear Another Helicopter Flying Over The Neighborhood…

Do you ever hear a helicopter flying overhead and think to yourself “The government is sending helicopters to protect me?”

I don’t but my sister does, and not only helicopters but military planes. We are in the flight path of the Air Force base that’s nearly 20 miles away. It would be terribly expensive to fly AWACs and helicopters over homes to protect individuals wouldn’t it? 😂

If I'm in a city I see helicopters a lot. I think that large cities are harder to maintain and helicopters are part of that. They're basically flying trucks.

@HobNoblin The city police department has one that it uses to check the local parks, no one is supposed to be there after dark so they go about 30 minutes before sunset to check them around here. If there are people there then they may dispatch a cop later while they are on their neighborhood patrols to see if anyone is still there. They also use them to check on traffic especially during high-traffic times like football games and other events and move-in and move-out times at the university when traffic is highly congested. They will also use them in criminal chases or when criminals are on foot running from the police. Saw one at the university going around and around a building that is 4 stories tall and shaped like an X. They were watching till the campus cops got there and apparently the suspect kept running around the building and trying to hide in the inside corners of the X-shaped building. There is also a new helicopter school located at the city airport along with the flight school. Small planes are always landing and taking off throughout the day here. Sometimes I hear a military helicopter and they will rattle the windows when they go over.
