I Flew On a Plane

I hesitated whether to write this but after two weeks of it lingering in my head, I thought it’s better to let it out.

On my last flight back to Asia, I took a Lufthansa flight. It was a long haul flight and I had made up my mind that if I could not get a wink of sleep, I could make better use of my time by catching some movies.

I was in the middle of some dark and dreary Peruvian film when the stewardess approached with the meals. She was coming from the back so I did not see her at first. I unplugged my ear plugs and hurriedly unlocked the tray in front of me as she lay the food down.

I did not expect what was to happen next. Before she walked away, she said,’Maybe before I come by, you can prepare the table first’. I was taken aback. I said nothing. I think I was too stunned to react.

I have re-played that scene so many times in my head now. And rehearsed too what I should have said back. I do not know if that is the typical thing an air stewardess says to a passenger but I thought it was rude.

Tell me if I’m over-reacting.

Just another sign of the lack of respect that the airlines have for passengers. Seats used to have 36 inches between them, now they have 17. You were fortunate to get food at all as many airlines have done away with it.

@xixgun no food, really? 😱 It's true airline companies have become rather high-handed.
