Dual Sport Motorcycles

Does anyone else out there enjoy riding on AND off road? I have had many different motorcycles
up to about 40 years old. I then concentrated on building my company, now at 64 I finally got
back into riding, and decided on a dual sport, since I like both dirt and street. I'm already
looking at what I will get after this one. I'm still getting back my skills.

They are ok. My thing is they aren't really great at either one. On or off. Tread wear, traction ,ride( smoothness ),ride (height). Weight capabilities. They really only fit best one place or the other. There is also the weight of the bike too

@Applepiedom Yeah, there are tons of different bikes out there.
My XT250 isn't the best street bike, but it does ok, And it's not a
high performance off road machine like I had in the past, but it
will do fun trails, and it make me smile. Checking out bikes on
You Tube has been fun. I would have a garage full if I could,

@DogMan yeah I know what you mean. I would too. But it would be off road, then on road.
I took flying lessons on my first and swore I'd never do it again but 25 yrs later got a Honda v twin.

@Applepiedom I saw something on the new Honda Transalp, that looks like
fun, can even do some light off roading with it.

@Applepiedom Oh shit! I thought the 6 cylinder CBX was big, I rode a friends once.
Didn't care for it. At the time 1982 I had a KZ1000 shaft drive, that was fun. I could
drift it on the street going around corners. I did a little flat tracking back then on
my XR500. Till I went down during my slide and didn't get my leg out in time.
the frame hit my knee cap and broke it into 3 pieces. I went to an Army hospital
in El Paso, and they safety wired it back together.

@Applepiedom Yeah, I was in the Air Force at the time, but we didn't have much of a hospital.

I was down in southern New Mexico at White Sands test range working on F-15's
