My friend told me to stop going to the dealership to get my oil changed

So I went somewhere else, and I was stuck in my car with a 22 year old mechanic hitting on me for 50 minutes, leaning into my car and showing me his phone. Never again.
He did show me how to check my oil and an air filter, so that was nice I guess.

you need to ensure the oil change location is capable of doing the work. Driving a Fiat with the oil filter in an obscure hard to reach place, they were unable to change the filter. After they attempted to change the filter and the oil was changed, they had me run the engine at normal driving RPM for 15 minutes. and then changed the oil again at no cost.

they just lost a customer for both vehicles

@Orca4950 how am I supposed to know all this stuff about what do do, where to go or not to go? It’s so frustrating

@itsok ask when you make the appointment or when you show up. All questions are allowed. trust your instincts and intuition.

@Orca4950 I don’t even know what I’m supposed to be asking for or looking for

@itsok Check your owners manual or online owners manual to see what is documented there for the maintenance based on mileage on your vehicle. although your car has reached the mileage, all suggested repairs may not be necessary.

Have the service advisor explain what they will do to complete the maintenance you have asked for. push back if you don't understand.

get a friend to go over your car with you and show/explain the things you don't understand.
