My friend told me to stop going to the dealership to get my oil changed

So I went somewhere else, and I was stuck in my car with a 22 year old mechanic hitting on me for 50 minutes, leaning into my car and showing me his phone. Never again.
He did show me how to check my oil and an air filter, so that was nice I guess.

He did show me how to check my oil and an air filter
I can’t compete with that

@JRVanguard we’ll see if I ever do it. He said I’m supposed to be checking the oil often. I’ve never done that before

@itsok Can you check mine too
I’ve never done it either 😬

@JRVanguard of course, i am the expert now. If it was so important why has no one ever told me to do it before?

@itsok I don’t know how my car still drives tbh
It’s pretty old and I keep finding out about all these things I’m apparently supposed to be doing or checking on
And those things aren’t happening

@JRVanguard maybe cars run on ignorance. If you don’t know there’s a problem, is there really even a problem?

@itsok I’ve gotten very far by ignoring weird sounds that my car is making until either the noise stops or the car does

@JRVanguard I feel like that’s what I do with a lot of problems in my life 😵 who knows how many illnesses I’ve avoided just by ignoring symptoms

@itsok If it ain’t broke don’t fix it

I feel like that’s not the advice I should be giving as a friend
But also I would be a hypocrite to say anything else
