That's a great thing for the oil corporations. Profits are record high!
And the population is NOT the economy. And the population voted to be a sacrifice to Elon and the other bros.

Remind us, Jackson & Mr Brownstain, whose war against Iran caused Iran to block the Strait of Hormuz and bomb oil facilities in the Middle East??
Back before tRump's war, 20% to 25% of the world's petroleum and liquid fuels consumption passed thru the Strait.
Around 4% to 5% of the world's oil supply flowed through Saudi Arabia's primary East-West pipeline before Iran bombed it.
Russia exports roughly 7% to 10% of he world's total traded crude oil and petroleum products.
Furthermore, the European Union stopped buying seaborne crude oil from Russia on December 5, 2022, and banned refined petroleum products (like diesel) on February 5, 2023. You'll also notice, below, the timing of the gas price spike is closely correlated with the start of tRump's 2026 Iran war.
In short, Russia's exports have a minor effect on world oil supplies; it's the Iran war that has the major effect.

I guess President controls price of gas now.
@jackson55 says You can blame the war between Russia and the Ukraine for the high cost of heating oil, and diesel.
NOPE!! DEAD WRONG!!!Remind us, Jackson & Mr Brownstain, whose war against Iran caused Iran to block the Strait of Hormuz and bomb oil facilities in the Middle East??

Don't forget to thank your president for that. My mother's heating oil increased by over 60% between February and September.

Allow me to remind you of tRump's promises two years ago.We will end inflation and make America affordable again, and we’re going to get the prices down, we have to get them down. It’s too much. Groceries, cars, everything. We’re going to get the prices down.
Don-old J Tяump at Erie PA rally, Sept 29,2024 “When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on day one,” Trump continued. “We will drill, baby, drill,” he said, referring to increasing domestic oil production. “That’s going to bring down prices of everything.”

@jackson55 That war and the initial inflationary shock peaked over four years ago. In February, on the eve of the illegal Trump war, oil prices per barrel were lower than at any time since 2018.

@MrBrownstone He seems to exercise control of very little. His reckless actions have caused oil prices to spike, if that is what you mean.

Many may opt for more body heat this season, if possible!!!!

Thankfully I use natural gas to heat my home, but I'm sure that the price of it will be skyrocketing too!!

we just have a tiny house with a large window ac unit that has both heating and cooling

Fuel is still very cheap as an energy source. Esp in the USA. Sorry to burst the bubble of you peeps living there
Musicman · 61-69, M
I am sorry you are having to pay that much. It should be cheaper. Heating fuel is basically diesel fuel. Being for heating you shouldn't have to pay the road taxes. High diesel prices is half the reason our motorhome is parked at the house this summer. ☹

To think América is about to make a considered opinion in the upcoming elections.

Diesel hit $3.01 a litre yesterday.
100 Gallon = $1,354.4 Here

@ShenaniganFoodie diesel here is about $3 per litre again but the cost of electricity is also skyrocketing meaning the EV believers are also living on borrowed time

everyone whines and complains, but still drive those giant behemoth gas guzzlers🤔
ElwoodBlues · M
@Elessar Indeed. It's also true that home heating oil is almost the same as diesel; "both are No. 2 distillate fuels produced from the same stage of crude oil refining."
Thus the current high price of diesel is an precursor of where prices are likely to go when the winter heating season arrives.

@ElwoodBlues Good thing that at least here winter is perfectly survivable without heating. It'll be uncomfortable but not deadly.
