Fuel prices are down a lot making people who rushed to buy ev's etc a bit silly

Diesel was A$2.41 today down from A$3.40 just a few weeks ago

The people rushing to Chinese ev's and Chinese solar and Chinese batteries are looking a bit silly now

How come? It’s was cheaper to buy and run an EV even before the Iran war, and they’re only going to get cheaper.

And what’s the price of diesel got to do with solar panels? 😂
@Waveney The trend for price. The cost of producing Gasoline will rise. The cost of producing EV cars and electricity will fall. (Unless govt intervenes)😷

@whowasthatmaskedman OK that's what I thought you meant. Also, ant-EVers seem to forget that the ICE has got as far as it will ever get, efficiency-wise. It's had over 100 years. EVs have barely had 10 (serious) years. The EV revolution is only just getting started.
@Waveney This evolution will change the identity of the car itself. Most of the mechanical complexity and weight is about to disappear as the vehicle drive becomes one electric motor per wheel. No need for heavy motors, cooling systems, transmission, and exhaust. A lighter frame as a result and totally different layouts possible. 😷

@LegendofPeza How am I a liar? Diesel went up from under $2 a litre before Trump started bombing Iran to nearly $3.50 a litre and has dropped back down again basically a whole dollar and I bought some yesty (inc filling my two backup jerry cans) for $2.41 a litre.

I *never* have range anxiety and go up to a month without needing a re-fuel event scheduled into my calendar. I *never* have to search to find a public charging station that actually works and that I can afford to use.

During a few weeks during 'peak covid' when everyone's jobs with cancelled by the government yet mine kept going I could buy petrol and diesel for under $1 a litre.

It's still 'cheap energy' until it gets to double-digit per litre prices (A$10 per L or more).

@zonavar68 'Gas prices rose again on Wednesday(today), jumping to a national average of $4.23 a gallon, a fresh high since the start of the war in Iran. The increase has raised the cost for drivers by 42 percent, according to the AAA motor club.'
Dont rush to judgement on this..Either way..😷
