I must admit some people do faff about a bit. If I am holding anyone up I usually drive forwards a bit so I can clip in the seat-belt and put anything I have bought, safely to one side without wasting others' time.
A little patience doesn't come amiss though, and two minutes longer at the filling-station should not affect the journey.
What irritates me far more is the motorist who leaves the car at the pump even though holding others up, while not only paying for fuel but seemingly doing half their week's shopping as well.
One advantage of the pumps with card-readers is that you don't need enter the shop, and that speeds the process a bit.
