If you are an EV zealot, do you 'hypermile' your EV to try and inflate it's abilities?

'Hypermiling' is the practice of trying to extract ever possible mile, or km, of range from your EV by very carefully structuring how you use it. ie. never using heating or cooling unless you must in order to survive, never driving 'hard' or taking off under high acceleration from a standing start, never hauling any loads, and similar things.

If you are an EV user, how do you charge it? Are you a true net-zero person who only charges with solar and wind energy 'collected' from your own equipment at your own property? or do you grid-charge, or use public chargers (which might be solar/battery, or grid, or generator powered)?

EV's are not 'green' - they are differently complex.

i think a lot of ev people are forced to hypermile just to get to a public charger that works. Gamble that doesnt always pay off.

@zonavar68 Haven't heard of public chargers that do not work.

@Zeusdelight Ev charger cable theft, power grid outages, general defects, vandalism other than cable theft, extreme hot or cold making them not work, etc.

@zonavar68 still not heard any reports. Anything in the news?
