R.I.P. buddy

Just got back from a long drive. Along the way, someone stopped their car, got out and chucked something on the grass verge. Had a look. Cat. Makes me sad when that happens.

[UPDATE]
Sorry I must clarify, he didnt dump a cat he had in his car in traffic. He saw it in the road, stopped and moved it to the verge.
[UPDATE 2]
I don't know if he was the one who hit it. Initially I thought it wasn't him.

either it needed medical attention or a proper burial, depending on the outcome

@StygianKohlrabi I'd liked to have stopped but when you're driving, everything happens so fast.

@Hireath I saw a squirrel gasping outside on the ground. felt bad to leave it there. when I remembered it later, it was already dead. but there's usually a pet/wildlife clinic in the area to contact.

@StygianKohlrabi Were you driving? There's no real protocol of what to do....The authorities will probably tell us just to keep driving, even right over them. And a squirrel is quite small, will vets take in a small animal like that and will we be charged for being the one to bring them in? It's no wonder I panicked a bit.

@Hireath not here, there is a nonprofit that does the work. I don't know about your area. If not, you are free to make your own decisions.
