I hate making left-hand turns with an UNPROTECTED green light

I get to the light slightly before a big F-350, but there was a car coming on his other side so I had to stop completely.

There is no cars on my side of the street but instead of him making HiS left hand turn, he sits there, flashing his lights at me, signaling me to go.

I motioned, while he continues to flash his lights.

I had no visibility on his other side at that point...

If you MOVE your big truck and go ahead and turn, I can proceed safely!

I had to inch and inch and inch, all while he sat, then turned after I turned. Completely pointless as my side was clear the while time.

Ugh

I got hit by a red light runner at full speed from my driver's side at one while waiting for an oncoming car to pass, YET the cop REFUSED to give him a ticket, claiming I was at fault for being in a left turn lane, this happened in Las Vegas in 2009. One more foot forward I would have been hit directly instead of my front driver's side quarter panel, it most likely would have killed me sonce he was going 45mph.

@NativePortlander1970 oh wow, glad you're ok. Sometimes I really hate how the streets are made, how the signals work here. It's stupid. I like to look at videos of how roadways work in other countries. Things flow alot smoother in other places. Here, we have conflicting signals. For example, a car can turn right on green obviously, but that's the same time that the pedestrian to your right, who is crossing the street, gets his "go" signal. If driver/pedestrian don't notice each other, that could be an accident.
@iamnikki The wost thing is that my auto insurance has been tripled because of it.

@NativePortlander1970 I don't understand insurance sometimes. If you use it, you pay more for it.
Paying for the "what if" anyway. Seems like we should get at least a percentage back every year if no accidents take place.
@iamnikki Nope, they do the opposite.
@iamnikki My insurance just went from $28 a month to $31.24 a month, no reason why. No problems or issues since at least 2010, but am with a different insurance company. They told me, we'll never raise your rate unless an accident or something like that. Okay, then why did my rate just go up 5 bucks??

@Bob0Bob Mine is $95. It was $62-67 for a while.
I called them and asked why. All they could say was that it was due to price increase all around.
They mentioned I could drop my comprehensive coverage, but I feel like, as soon as I do that, something may happen.
I still think it's time to shop around.
