Is it weird that I'm afraid to drive...

So I've been doing driving lessons since I was maybe 26... Anyways I didn't pass my first theory test and although my instructor said o can actually drive i got caught up not driving during the lockdown and haven't bothered to resit my test.

But as times going on I don't think I actually want to learn.
I suffer from anxiety and my vision isn't the best.
Yes I wear glasses but I just feel like it's dangerous especially as people in London drive like idiots and there's so many parking restrictions.

It would be more hassle to drive then not.

Am I being stupid?

An anxious driver is very dangerous. Normally I would encourage someone to address their anxiety to help get it behind them. But if you are not comfortable and can avoid it, why put yourself and others at risk? You can always come back later and get your license if circumstances change.

@IsitevenMe You are correct if the person is prone to panic attacks and has official diagnosis but when I did my licnece, instructors were saying that the most accidents are caused by overly confident drivers who overestimate their abilities, not the anxious people.

@CrazyMusicLover I would agree if you changed it to aggressive drivers. But hey, my point is not being comfortable, hesitant, anxious, etc…why do it if you don’t have to. I wish her the best no matter which choice.

@IsitevenMe Anxiety can disappear if you drive drive long enough and gain the needed experience. There's a really great number of people who are scared when they are starting to drive. If you won't try because you're scared you won't know if it will be okay later or not.
