Speed limits make driving more dangerous.
I don't want to live in a world where people are driving metal objects and constantly looking at the INSIDE of it (the dash board) to make sure they're not going too fast instead of making sure they're not about to hit something. If you're looking at the outside of your car, provided some education, determining a safe speed would come naturally. The speedometer is there for extra measure.
My favorite example is when someone is driving on a 45mph road and goes through a bend waaaaaay too fast with the excuse that "I'm still within the speed limit". 😑 People are out there checking mailboxes, trying to pull out of driveways, etc. and you're whipping around that corner with less than a second of reaction time for both of you. The worst part is multiple people in my area have died from that exact thing and people don't get pulled over for it.
