Speed limits and aggressive driving

As I mature in my driving experience, I feel no need to demonstrate my masculinity by driving fast, or insisting I go first in a queue. I'll get to my destination, but will they?

They might, but probably not significantly earlier than you. Still, it's their fuel they are wasting!

I used a few times a year to make a journey that includes 200 miles of motorway. Applying a little arithmetic, and assuming similar durations of "T-&-P" stops, and clear runs (on the M6??), a steady 70mph would take 2.9 hours, 60mph 3.3 hours; actually moving.

So saving under half an hour, as if that even matters on a "social, domestic and leisure" journey that overall usually takes around 8 hours due to the ordinary roads at each end, even in moderate traffic. These total about 100 miles.
