@SooperSarah Right now, "fast charging" is limited to 350kW at public chargers. Battery packs are being developed that can charge from 10% to 80% in ten minutes at higher wattages; Polestar has demonstrated this.

With regards to fast charging and battery longevity, batteries can be replaced. Expensive event, but people who buy normal cars assume the same risk with their engines and trans blowing out. With long road trips, people should be resting during that which allows for charging to be relatively painless

@SooperSarah over a journey of 500 miles north to south in the UK, Mat spent about an hour charging. He says it would maybe be 45 minutes in a petrol car with fueling and normal stops to rest etc. 15 minutes over such a large time isn't really remarkable and this is with technology from 3 years ago
