I Like Muscle Cars

The muscle cars and the car culture of the 1960's. What a time it was. Never anything like it before nor since. Modern cars are safer and maybe better, but the car culture that existed then was really something. When the Big 3 automakers all supported auto racing, and believed in that sales saying "Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday."

The hot muscle cars that we long for and pay big money for today were either brand new or just slightly used cars back then. When every car guy and car girl lived real life versions of the Beach Boy's classic car song "Shut Down" and used a car vocabulary just like the lyrics of that song in everyday speech:

"My Stingray's light the slicks are startin' to spin,
but the four-thirteen's really diggin in'
gotta be cool now power shift here we go

Superstock Dart is windin' out in low,
But my fuel injected Stingray's really startin' to go,
To get the traction I'm riding the clutch,
My pressure plate's burnin' that machine's too much....."

"Pedal's to the floor hear his dual quads drink,
And now the four-thirteen's lead is startin' to shrink,
He's hot with ram induction but it's understood,
I got a fuel injected engine sittin' under my hood."

"Shut it off shut it off, buddy now I shut you down."
