Give me a number. At the mechanic for an oil change and a squealing noise on front left when going around curves while driving, only when turning left. One guy said sounds like a CV joint, I have no idea. I'm guessing 2100.

Yeah, I’d guess CV joint too. Depending on the mechanic, and if it’s just the one side, prolly $500 to $1000

@Zaphod42 it's the rear wheel bearing driver side. With today's oil change, then parts, labor and tax would be 670.

Gonna get it done Friday when I get paid.

Depends on the car and if one needs replacement, the other does too... could be up to 3k for both.

@twiigss i know nothing about mechanical fees but i guess one could google the average cost for such a thing for the area

@GoFish yeah I'm not too sure if it's the area because I had a mechanic that went from 75 an hour on labor to 100 because he needed to make more money, is pretty much what he said when asked about the price increase.

Oil change should he around $80. We need the diagnosis on the squealing before I can venture a guess there.

@Magicianzini I hadn't really thought of a Corolla. Had a 97 Camry 4-cylinder, then the 2000. It's dependable but gas mileage has been fluctuating anywhere from as low as 17mpg to 23mph, but lately it's been between 20 and 22mpg.

I get better gas mileage if I take it on the highway than the stop and go in town all the time.
