That was too much excitement

way too much. I went to pick my daughter up from work. We were stopped at a red light, and a car hit us from the back. I was rear-ended about 20 years ago, so I always look in my rearview mirror when I am stopped to make sure the car behind me stops. Well, this car stopped behind me. Then, as I was waiting for the light to turn green, he hit me with so much force, from a stopped position, that he totaled his car, smashed in my rear hatch on my minivan, and gave my daughter whiplash. 😯

I have extreme social anxiety, and this was an ordeal for me. The police, sheriff, fire department, and ambulance came. I had to talk to everyone. I was crying and shaking, and it really sucked, but I did it. My Husband is gone. I handled all this alone. Even though I have barely left the house in the last 30 years, except now to take my daughter to work and pick her up. My daughter, who was in the car, called my oldest daughter, and I was glad she was there, but I handled this all by myself. 🙂

I am still shook up, and sore, and my head got jiggled up pretty good, but I thought if I wrote this down, while it is still fresh in my mind, it might help. The man and his daughter in the car that hit us were ok too. I felt kinda bad because my daughter cried out ouch when we got hit, and the momma bear came out in me. I got out of the van and hollered at the man, saying, "What the hell! The light was still red!! You hurt my daughter's neck! " Then I got back in the van and waited for the police. After crying for a few minutes, I got back out and said I was sorry for yelling at him. I only lost my cool for a couple of minutes before I got myself back under control.🙂

Well, I have written it all down now. I think this is all I can write for now. I am still feeling kinda weird. I suppose it is from the adrenaline rush. I thank God for protecting all the people involved in this accident today. ❤

UPDATE- The only thing I noticed about the man who hit us yesterday was that his eyes were glossy or glassy, whichever way it is said. I just looked that up, and sometimes it is caused by alcohol or drugs. I guess this would make sense because not much else does. That may have been why the police kept him longer than they kept us.🤷‍♀

Hope you are feeling better!!!
We got rear ended 3 years ago. My sternum was fractured. The guy in the truck wasn't paying attention to his driving. 4 car wreck. We sued and had the car replaced while it took months for me to recover. I hope you sue the guy for damages, loss of wages, pain and suffering, etc.

@Blondily Oh my gosh. I am soooo sorry you were hurt so badly, and that it took a long time to recover. That was a terrible, terrible wreck. Just a couple of minutes of someone not paying attention can cause months and even years of suffering to someone else. I just have to shake my head, because at this moment I don't have the right words to express my thoughts. I am really so very sorry you had such a horrible experience, and I hope you're ok now.🤗

@Journaling4MeAgain Yeah, folks kept telling me,At least you were OK as I grieved over my car😭😄

Yes its ok to laugh at yourself
Journaling4MeAgain · 56-60, F
@bookerdana I agree. It is ok to laugh at yourself. I do it All the time...😅
Did he say why he drove into you? Was he an old man or something? Sometimes old people mistake the brake pedal for the gas.
Otherwise I suppose the devil could have pushed his pedal down with a laugh.

@JamesBugman He said he thought I was moving. He was between 30 and 40 years old. I don't think the devil did this, but I sure don't know what happened. He was still talking to law enforcement when they told us we could go home.🤷‍♀

@Pretzel Thank you for your kind comment. I didn't think my daughter and I were hurt that badly, but as the adrenaline wears off, it doesn't look so good. My left hip, right ankle, and right wrist are becoming more and more painful. Both my daughter and I have symptoms of a concussion, and the EMTs said my daughter did have whiplash. Our problem is no insurance, so unless something more happens, we will have to deal with this on our own. This might really suck more than I thought. Thank you again for caring. it means so much to me.

He "thought you were moving"?

He probably was looking at his cell phone. 🙄

@Thinkerbell That's what I said, but my oldest daughter (she came for support when we called her) said his car was brand new and should have had Bluetooth and hands-free like her truck does.🤷‍♀ I know he was completely shook up and kept saying he was sorry. I think at the last minute, he tried to miss me because it was the driver's side in the back that received the most damage. I am not sure if I will ever completely understand what happened.🤷‍♀
