Well since we are talking a brand new vehicle, there shouldn't be any concern about reliability.

I just say that because when one buys used, THAT is when we have to investigate how well they hold up over time.

In your case, just figure out what is most important like fuel economy, something small or large, fast or slow, etc. That will narrow things down considerably.

I do not know your financial situation but consider this - maybe get something slightly used like a year or two?
Brand new vehicles depreciate considerably the moment you drive them off the lot.

@Punches I need something big (I’m a parent) so that’s my only concern really. Big and doesn’t drink fuel like it’s water on a hot day

@BabyDolls The bigger a vehicle, the more fuel it consumes.

It seems SUV is the best compromise. Big enough for a family but still "kind of" fuel-efficient.
Also, V6 engines are slower but better gas mileage than a V8 engine. So if you have that choice, V6 engine.

Keep in mind they might try to sell you something way oversized and priced.
Just, if an SUV is what you need, stick to your guns.
