Checking a cars transmission fluid
How can I see or check my cars transmission fluid it’s a ford fiesta 2013

My roommate's mom has a ford suv. I tried to check hers and found out there's no dipstick to check it! Apparently a mechanic has to hook up something special to the transmission plug and count how fast the drops fall to determine the fluid level.
