Have you ever driven a real race car? Felt the ground physically shake as the car sat there at idle?

Road race, ice race -- more of a sports car thing. The ground doesn't exactly shake from three hundred horsepower. Fun to drive, though. Especially on ice.

I have sat in a couple of moderately impressive drag cars, but I've never driven one in anger. One friend was willing to let me make a couple of (careful) passes, but I just don't fit in his car. Impressive to stand beside at launch, though, that's for sure.
