Years ago I used to race dirt track. Not sure the ground vibrated under it but there was a pulse in the air for sure. I miss those day. :)

@Stereoguy I did. Made some life long friends in the process. Spent way too much $$ doing it, so that's my only regret. I loved driving and the winter months of building/fabricating next seasons car.
The rat race of fixing a torn up car during the week wasn't a lot of fun either.

@Stereoguy That they do. Somewhere I have some video of some of the races. The woman who was recording them for me was chasing me. But she was a bit older than I and had two daughters. So wasn't sure I wanted to pursue anything with her. But I'm sure she would have been a wild ride so I do regret not at least taking her for a couple laps. 🤭

@WindTherapy That sounds awesome.

@Stereoguy I have a '76 Dodge in the barn. It was my first car. I keep saying I want to get it out and fix the rust and repaint it. It would be a perfect weekend cruiser. It's not really a collectible so it wouldn't be worth much to sell. I figure it's mine already, just need to find some time and $$ to get that project going.

@WindTherapy A 76 Dodge,what? If you dont mind me asking. Thankyou!

@Eddiesolds Aspen. 2 door 318/auto. It has dual exhaust now so it has a nice rumble. Not the Singer sewing machine sound of the sleazy 6. 🤣

@WindTherapy No shit eh! Sounds awesome. Those cars are so long gone. Id love to redo it for you. Keep hanging onto it. Sounds like fun! Thankyou for telling me.

@Eddiesolds Yeah it's not a collector like a Charger/Challenger/Dart type car. But like you say, they're so long gone now. It's unique now in it's own right.

@WindTherapy Yes it is. I love dodge muscle cars. They look the meanest. Lol!

@Eddiesolds I've always been a Mopar fan. If $$ were no object I'd love to have a ~70 Challenger convertible. I always like the lines and style of it. Shorter than the Charger. To me nothing says tough like the looks of some of those old 4x4 Power Wagons.

@WindTherapy ive always wanted a 69 Baracuda. So beautiful! Maybe in my next life with my dogs.

@Eddiesolds Also a nice classic. I was never a fan of the funky bubble back window in some models.
I bought a '72 Duster from a friend when his GF drove it without oil and toasted the sleazy 6 in it. I put another 6 in it and drove it a while that way. Got the motor from a '74 Valient that has velour bucket seats. Used the interior in the Duster as well. The buckets were more comfy than the stock bench seat of the Duster. A little while later and I found a rotted out Dodge Demon with 318/3 speed on the floor. We pulled the front frame assembly for the V8 motor and cut out the floor pan for the floor shifter and swapped steering column. That little thing had some giddy-up to a 18 year old kid. Did a lot of stuff like that with my friends in my youth. Learning to turn wrenches has served me well in my lifetime. I do IT work which is easier on my back. But I still enjoy tinkering with all my cars/motorcycles/tractors/etc.

@Stereoguy Probably not. If I were to do anything it might be a cam to give it a little more lope and low end. But I'm a Sunday cruiser with nowhere to be in a hurry when driving something like that.
