Are cars nowadays better than cars of the past?

I've read that many 70's and 80's cars for example were pretty bad as far as quality goes (in America at least), but they were a lot easier to repair and maintain.

I don't think so. Most modern cars today will not be on the road 60+ years from now.

@Azlotto they are not designed to be on the road in 60 years. There’s nothing classic about the designs and there’s too many computing bits which won’t be functional any more.

@Azlotto Me and my buddy used to defy the laws of physics in one of those puppies. I was a hillbilly and he was from Chicago. I remember lighting our puke on fire on those endless suicide drives throughout western central Arkansas in the 70's.
