Just a nightmare

Was in a car crash on Christmas eve, rear ended. I was ok but developed acute whiplash. Pain three days later. My car has been in a tow lot waiting to be appraised by the at fault driver insurance. It took over a week and they notified me today that it's a total loss, and I only have until tomorrow to get my things. That they'll only pay until tomorrow.
Then, right after that, I get a letter saying I am responsible for damages incurred. I'm like What??? I didn't have collision so now will need a lawyer that does damage claim in addition to personal injury. I am so stressed and trying to find one in the next day or two. What a Happy New year 😟

I can relate aprox 2 years ago i was walking with my ear buds in listening to music, a drunk driver jumped the curb and hit me nearly pinning me between the car and the building he hit . His attorney claimed if i hadn't had ear buds in i wouldn't have been hit . I couldn't afford a lawyer they paid my medical bills and wouldn't even pay for my phone! Get a good attorney if you can .This is what my leg looked like

@kodiac oh I remember that now.... I'm sorry you went through that. 😢 It must've been so painful. Whether someone had earbuds or not the driver needs to be looking at people or things in front of them 😦.

@Beautyinbroken Exactly.. earbuds or not a person has near zero time to get out of the way from a vehicle going at much higher speed than the pedestrian walking....😯
