At least you are not driving!!!
I used to commute from Queens to Brooklyn by car. 20 mile one way commute used to take me 45 minutes in morning, if I leave before 5:45am. Return commute was horrible, anything from 1 1/2 hour ( on good day) to 2 plus. It used to be easy when school is close. Add more time dirinv inclimate weather.

@Nick1 oh I totally can relate I understand absolutely. I used to drive to Uniondale Long Island from Brooklyn. It was crazy we left at 6:45 a.m. to get there at 9:00 sometimes we needed to leave at 6:15.
The worst thing is to work in the city and commute by express bus from Queens or any bus for that matter to get out of the city especially during United Nations week and the entire season of The Rockefeller Christmas tree. If there was a president or some type of funeral or parade event I would literally cry because I knew I wasn't going to get to work on time.
It is an absolute nightmare. And don't forget the impromptu snow storm that the city wasn't ready for I can really honestly tell you I spent 7 hours on a bus in a small snow squall inching my way across 6th Ave
