At the age of 12 I drove a cruise ship. Really. My family took a three day cruise down the St. Lawrence Seaway. I made friends with the First Mate and he actually let me hold the ship's wheel for a minute or two, just telling me to make sure the spar(?) at the ship's prow was aimed at a rise on the shore in the distance.
