@BlobbyMcBlobface That compass I have seen before when people run in the woods following certain tracks. You also use this compass to take out a point on a seamap or a roadmap then you can turn the compass head until the lines within the head goes vertically along with the lines on the map. There is videos on YT how they do that. Many many years ago when I went in school we learned us how to use this compass...I still know how to turn the compass head so that the lines goes vertically with the lines on the map but the rest I have forgotten but as I said there is vids on YouTube how to do.
