Truck Shopping..........what a F'n joke!
Let's start with this.........I've worked in the car business for almost 40 years, 3rd generation mechanic, my dad owned a service station, granddad owned a dealership. I know my way around the business.
During covid lock down my wife needed to replace her SUV, the frame had rotted through and a control arm had ripped out, we NEEDED a vehicle in a hurry and bought the only thing we could find, a 2018 GMC Acadia that was just off lease with right around 30K on it. 5 years later the unibody has completely rotted away and it's ready for the bone yard, so went took some time to look at new trucks that better fit my wife's needs. After 2 hours at the local dealership it was painfully obvious neither one of us wants a new vehicle. All we asked for was a stripped down, bare bones basic work truck..........4 wheel drive, trailer hitch, no power anything, no touch screen, no pointless features we'll never use. We ended up finding...........NOTHING! We ended up test driving a Maverick just for shits and giggles, but even that was loaded with crap we didn't want, not to mention a payment that was more than my mortgage! It's pretty sad.
