Oh they've altered the timetable the 24X bus doesn't stop at that bus stop anymore and there's no 11.30 bus from Pontypridd if you can put up with buses not turning up or not stopping then yes they provide a useful service.

@senghenydd they have to find people to drive theb usses and enough people to give them a reason to hire those people

@popmol If we don't take advantage of our public services for example buses running mostly empty we'll lose them, like the Railways in the 1960s.

@senghenydd indeed ! it would be sad to lose them

@popmol Public transport is essential especially for the old the young and the disabled, we should never take for granted public transport, local government offices seem to be cutting costs we the general public need to keep an eye on the way they run our local services,

@popmol There are routes that are given to the Private sector to operate these are rail and bus routes if these companies fail to reach the expected standard they lose the contracts, this system works well, there's fierce competition between rival companies, many of the companies who operate these franchises lose their contracts, the general public are sometimes shocked because they provided a very good service, it makes you think if there's a back-hander involved.

@senghenydd well here its only one company unless there are smaller companies under it.

@popmol The local councils here in South Wales control who runs the Bus routes, they put out to contract a very busy route and also to the same company a not so busy route which isn't making a profit, it works out quite well where I live, public transport is well supported.

@senghenydd ooh thats awesome :) here theres 2 companies for the south and north of belgium.

@popmol Putting these routes out to the Public Sector improves the services in my opinion, I've mentioned there's some routes that are operated which don't bring in a profit but the better routes compensate. A great deal of our Public Transport is now going green electric trains and buses so it's better for everyone.

@senghenydd ooh yeah thats a good thing! green electric trains and buses are awesome

@popmol I have a number of road vehicles however I caught two buses yesterday I must say it was a very pleasant experience relaxing watching the other passengers and enjoying scenery outside the bus. Britain is going for green public transport in a big way, soon all public transport will be green.
