Are car lights too bright?

It annoys me every day when I am driving in the dark, that so many cars have far too bright lights. They almost blind me. What about you?

especially Teslas seem to be designed to blind opposing traffic, and I think mane new led bicycle lights are painfully bright as well

@Tracos I hope the maximum brightness will be regulated.

@Tamara68 yeah... and I think its bizarre they were approved for european roads in the first place

@Tracos yes indeed. I saw a European research on this matter. They came up with recommendations 4 years ago but nothing was done with them apparently.

@Tamara68 there are new lights and new regulations. The most amazing technology changes the shape and direction of the lights.

@samueltyler2 that's great, but I think it will take a long time until all cars use that.

@Tamara68 In the US the law hasn't changed, yet, to allow full use of the pixel headlights. I understand my vehicle has them, but that capability has not been activated by the manufacturer. The car is a computer on wheels, receiving periodic software upgrades over the air.
