Just watched a 1970 convertible Plymouth Cuda with a 440 sell for $1 million dollars.

I am out to dinner. There was a waiting line so I sat in the bar. They have the Mecum Auto Auction on the TV. This 1970 Cuda comes up on the auction block. The starting bid was $40k. The price just kept going up faster than you could blink. It slowed at $700k and the auctioneer hammered it sold at $1 million dollars. I mean it wasn't even a HEMI. $1 million dollars! 😳

Im a lover of the Cuda's of old, but it's obvious some have way more money than good sense.

@Stereoguy I would sell it in a hot minute!😂 My cats are way more important, and who would want the insurance payments?

I trip onto that auction every now and again.
Beautiful machines. People with more money than sense.

That's crazy. Nice car but it's not that old to be that expensive. It's not a 1920s Cadillac.

And I love watching the mecum auctions.

@LaLumieri I ❤️ the ballsy muscle cars!

@Slade I love all the '70s classics and I'm a fan of motorcycles I saw an Indian motorcycle from the 30s was pretty exciting.. I'm more of a fan when they try to restore things in their original state I'm not a fan of car kits or spoiler kits. Or airbag suspension. A lot of the Ford F-150s have been redone. I do admire the work but sometimes it's just Overkill and I think when you lower everything and reconstruct the bed and the frame it compromises the vehicle

That thing? Imagine blowing a million on it...

@Stereoguy I also had a cherry 1973 Dodge Challenger with the 340 hood emblems and all of the rest of the good stuff

Gee sounds like it was a battle of the bucks on that one.
But those last two bidders may have drinks after the auction, who knows.

Not a HEMI, eh. Talk about buyer's remorse.
