Myrtle Beach

@Dignaga really? I thought nudity is not permitted in S Carolina.
@samueltyler2 The beach is in North Carolina, and I've camped nude in South Carolina just fine in a hammock for a month straight.

@Dignaga there are signs in Hilton Head warning.
@samueltyler2 I'm a stealth camper, and I learned in the Army in Alaska to sleep nude. When you see someone on a camping, survival or outdoor forum having the sleeping nude vs dressed debate, it's probably someone from my old unit defending naked winter sleeping.
South Carolina was too damn hot for me to stay dressed at night, so I camped out in North Charleston buck ass naked in a hammock. Couldn't sleep on the geound because Charleston was a roach infested hellacape at night (I found like twenty in a metal camping cup I washed out in the middle of the night). Columbia was better but had red fire ants. I hope the fire ants move to charleston and eat all the roaches.

@Dignaga for clarification:
No, public nudity is illegal in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The city also prohibits thong bathing suits in public areas.
Even North Myrtle Beach is in South Carolina. Sunset Beach is the southernmost beach in North Carolina.@SW-User I rode grey hound the whole length of south north carolina a few times (also took the train but that goes out in the middle of nowhere).
Myrtle Beach stretches forever along North Carolina'a coast. It's not a small area. Massive tourist trap area with stupid architecture attractions.

@samueltyler2 I recall the beach was along a double highway, and it was north of a gigantic Mexican fireworks stand, second most impressive fireworks shop I've seen (best is the giant gorilla weating a bra in Houston, Alaska facing the frontier).

@Dignaga I don't recall. I was there only once, thought it a bit honky tonk. But, it is totally in S Carolina.
@samueltyler2 Fort Bragg (now Fort Liberty) is definately in North Carolina. I took a train that trip and didn't have time to visit the Airborne Museum there despite the layover.
But I'm pretty sure Myrtle Beach stretches at least 30+ miles. The portion I was on had to of been North Carolina, it was on the way to Charleston.
When I was a kid I was jealous as everyone who had money left the Ohio Valley and went there. When I went it was a massive dissapointment. Had a restaurant built up like a couple of childish giant palm trees. Really had no desire to stick around and explore, was purely the world's longest amusement park.

@Dignaga bragg was in Fayetteville, a fair distance from the beach. I hate to pursue it, but Myrtle Beach was ever in N Carolina.
@samueltyler2 I know, I said that trip I took a train, and earlier in the discussion I said the train isn't along the coast, it goes a inkand route. Greyhound goes beach lengrh the whole way. I took some time off to explore it, was exteemely dissapointed. Not worth the hype from my childhood. Of course that's after I had lived in Hawaii fkr a year.

@Dignaga Perhaps you might want to trust someone who lives here. No nudity is allowed and Myrtle Beach does not stretch across the states. Pull out a map.
@SW-User I've been there overnight and camped naked.
And it does stretch a long bit. Maybe I got it confused with South Carolina north of charleston, but it does stretch forever, heavily commercialized with tourist traps along the whole long length of it.

@Dignaga I think you may be confusing Myrtle Beach with the Grand Strand. The Grand Strand runs. About 60 miles from about Georgetown to the state line. Or perhsps ypu went to Whispering Pines Nudist Resort in Ocean Isles Beach, North Carolina.
@SW-User There is a chance I got it confused. I wasn't exactly there long. Just got dropped off and walked around, was very dissapointed and camped out. But I'm certain I went across Myrtle Beach at some point because I saw a bunch of signs for it, and it seemed to go forever.
South Carolina I came in multiple routes. For Columbia I was initially in a good mood having first hit Nashville, Tennessee and the Parthenon, but it quickly turned rough because we picked up a bunch of felons and crackheads (one tried starting a racewar straight out of jail with all the black people) and another was a quite still high crackhead walking around the bus with his pants down around his ankles, and hot coffee in his hands, and almost spilling it on everyone. We were all screaming at him to stay away and he was agreeing with us, saying "I knkw, right". I wasn't too thrilled with South Carolina that day. On the way to Florence I think that happened, was relieved to see them all get off. The way I went to Charleston was along the highway via North Carolina. Saw the big bridge in the harbor. Spent a month that time. Another time was via train.
I was surprised how small the size of charleston was. Saw the museum with the Hunley. Mostly found crackheads about in the woods where I camped. Was worried a allagator would eat them as I wasn't that far from the lake in North Charleston. They'd come out, get high, and would crumple into the ground passed out and lay there for hours. Find them along the side of railroad tracks too, and that was a very busy railroad.
