It's my birthday today, and it's my 40th.

I'm on holiday, in Spain with my 14 year old daughter. I bought a cake and candles as I want to blow candles on my cake. But my daughter is refusing to at least be involved in it. I feel I've been ignored and felt like I am nobody. I'm trying to ignore it, but she is the way she is because of her dad tolerating her behaviour.

Gotta love the way a teen in a mood can bring a happy situation down to there grumpy self centred levels ..they'll soon grow out if it..I now..I've got three teens of my own!
Make yourself in the future have a pamper day all by yourself

@HotPizza71 I've been a teen girl myself, and I'm a parent, so I know what it means, from both sides of the fence...

@helenS absolutely..mine are ok though..they have there pull your hair out, roll your eyes moments, but generally they're good kids. I've much worse behaviour!!

@HotPizza71 I had big problems with my peers when I was a teenage girl. I found them so incredibly immature, especially the boys. Never felt attracted to any of them.

@helenS yes..boys do take a lil bit longer to mature. It's because they don't have the young girls bodies to worry about..boobs growing, peer pressure, periods. Guys have it much easier..all there lives!!!

@HotPizza71 Anyway I found mature men more interesting and attractive even as a teen girl.
My daughter wasn't interested in anything but playing classical guitar as a 14-year old.
