It's my birthday today, and it's my 40th.

I'm on holiday, in Spain with my 14 year old daughter. I bought a cake and candles as I want to blow candles on my cake. But my daughter is refusing to at least be involved in it. I feel I've been ignored and felt like I am nobody. I'm trying to ignore it, but she is the way she is because of her dad tolerating her behaviour.

Happy birthday! 🎉 I won't tell you how to discipline your child if you feel that she should be. But, I will tell you that you deserve better on your special day. Maybe you should tell her how you feel when she's disrespectful to you. I know you love her nonetheless, though.
