@Bexsy There are very few things that compare to georgia and the carolinas in August. They are hot as hell and sweat has its own sweat. Lol.
@Fungirlmmm been in Georgia, and even texas and new Mexico and Nevada in August. Of course when you’re used to humidity, the other places ( not Georgia)actually feel good. Still had plenty of fun in August. Just wasnt in the mountain area where is where I'm going this time
Hahaha well I did a spur of the moment trip with my dsd to las vegas becauze we found a great deal..like..2 days notice xD then we rented a car and drove to California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and then back to Las Vegas it was honestly the most fun I've ever had on vacation xD

Wyoming.
No specific destination. I did not even have a state map until I crossed the border. This was before I had a smartphone.
I drove across the southern part, then south into mountains, and ended up in Utah. I was totally lost. I stopped at a Walmart for a Utah map, and realized I went west and almost reached Salt Lake City. Time to head back east!
I crossed northern Utah, and entered Colorado. A sign said, next gas, 40 miles. I had plenty. It was barren desert. My first one! Yet it was overcast, and actually rained!
Eventually I found a hotel, mostly full of oil and gas workers, judging by all the trucks. I continued east the next day over mountains, hit familiar regions near Denver, and made the long trek home!

When I was younger I would do spur of the moment, now I have to have it all planned out

With a casa in Spain, it is decided for me. I can’t complain.

Lots of beautiful plantation homes to see.

Southern bugs, humidity and, well, southern culture have kept me (mostly) away. Lived in S Fl 6 years. Relatives in AL and TN.
Prefer drier and cooler. Beaches can be okay if not near cities.
REGARDLESS!....
I hope YOU have a great time and really enjoy trip and people! Enjoy the time away. Just have fun!

@Neoerectus well. I know Tennessee and Arkansas quite well as that's where my family is from. Bugs, humidity, heat aint no stranger to Mo either.
But I'll be in Northeast Georgia enjoying mountain scenery

Forever! Especially spending the money, as I like saving the money for just in case I need it later.
How did you decide on Helen so quickly over all the other mountain towns?

I highly recommend visiting historic Savannah if you get the chance. One of my favorite places.

You go girl! Have fun. 🙂 We rarely ever plan a trip that far in advance. We are more spur of the moment people.
