We have a motorhome that is big enough that we have to fuel up at truck stops. Some of them have Subways in them. I love their Spicy Italian sub, but yet when we are home I rarely go to Subway. Zaxby's is another.

I pretty much stopped eating at all fast food restaurants and now lean more towards Mexican restaurants. After getting food poisoning from 3 different Subways... I will never go back to a Subway. Mexican restaurants are very competitively priced compared to fast food restaurants and especially since fast food (crap food) restaurants jacked their prices out the roof . Generally family owned Mexican restaurants are hand cooked and locally aquire most of their ingredients. Taco bell, Pepe's and Hacienda don't count. They are chain food restaurants. I'm a truck driver. I generally cook 95% of my food now. I'm so done with price gouging. My truck has a stove and refrigerator. Doing this has literally saved me well over 65% of my eating expenses even still that grocery stores raised their prices too.

@IndianaJoes That is fabulous! What kind of truck is it?
@Musicman Currently it's a 579 Peterbilt.
@Musicman Sometimes I do OTR and sometimes I stay local to my home state

@IndianaJoes Very nice! Does it bother you when the big diesel motorhomes use the fuel islands at the truck stops?
@Musicman no, it's usually never a problem with motorhomes as long as they're not holding up the line. What usually makes us truck drivers angry is when other truck drivers are trying to do their 30-minute dot break while fueling and then they're stuck at that island and can't move for 30 minutes. That screws other drivers who have a log book.

@IndianaJoes What slows us up is the pump won't take our credit card. I have to go inside and pre pay. That does take a few minutes. After that though I never linger at the island unless half the bays are open.
