When your traveling, say on a road trip, is there restaurants you eat at that you normally wouldn't?

We have a motorhome that is big enough that we have to fuel up at truck stops. Some of them have Subways in them. I love their Spicy Italian sub, but yet when we are home I rarely go to Subway. Zaxby's is another.

Wawa, Sonic, Perkins.

LOVED stops at Shoney's.

Yeah, it's all part of the road tripping experience.

Truck stop diners, berry stands, greasy spoons, ma and pa homecooked restaurants.
Even the large centers like the Iowa 80 stop.
Love the country gas n grocery stores, with :" NEXT GAS 100 MILES " signs after them.

@SethGreene531 I would love to see the Iowa 80 truck stop. That would be so cool. 🙂🙂🙂 Have you ever been to Buc-ee's? That is pretty cool too. I always ask the people at the campgrounds were the best mom and pops are. They have introduced me to some really great places. 🙂
@Musicman The Iowa 80 is a must see for sure. Trucker friend of mine has been through there a number of times, and many of its equivalents.

I've seen similar, but 80 is the goal. Love all the idling diesel there; a lot of straight stack ,beautiful custom Peterbuilts worth a lot of money.

Buc-ee's is a largely southern state stop, I've not been that way in years; so it's new to me, but it looks amazing!! Remiscent of the old 50's motor courts.

Need to get to a good KOA sometime soon though.

Word of mouth is the best way to get to know an area---mom n pops have some of the best eating! ☺️

@SethGreene531 Yes they do. We are from Florida. I want to see the West and the Iowa 80 Truck Stop. It is said to be the largest truck stop in the world.

We really like the KOA campgrounds. They are always so nice and clean.
@Musicman You'd enjoy stereoguy's stories, he RV's like crazy, and is in south FL.

Yeah can't wait to get back there.

A midwest cruise is beautiful--Indiana to Iowa, NB, then on to CO, Wyoming.

KOA are always so interesting. They really are an American staple, and well set up with amenities.

The west is my next goal to. Take a route through NM, into AZ-NV work from Baja to the Rainbow Canyon (camp n watch bomber runs through there) then head up the CA coast to WA and UT, MT.

@SethGreene531 I like Buc-ee's. It is a lot more than a gas station, almost a destination.
