Is going on vacation or out of town a good excuse to miss a college class?

I much prefer to go on vacation after the semester ends. My friend says I should come down and see her. I will but I gotta find a good day to do it. At my job we have fall break but I still have my class to attend and I can’t miss my classes. Plus plan tickets cost so much. Plus I paid for my class.

Unless part of your grade is participation, it literally doesn't matter unless its a big day in class, like a quiz or test. Most professors post notes online, and even if they don't, it isn't hard to ask a classmate for pictures and notes. As long as youre willing to take on the responsibility of keeping up with your work despite being gone, you don't really need an 'excuse'.

@LillyPad she’s making excuses to not go see her friend. She can take time off from her school to go see her friend. She has no excuses.
